RR03
Chapters 4-6 were a good and informative read, though slow at times. I really like how each chapter was on a different field of design (Industrial, Visual Communications, and Interior). Chapter 4 was about industrial design. I thought it was interesting how product designers of kitchen utensils started to make things more attractive than functional. I thought the metaphor that Dieter Rams used was very interesting. It is interesting to think about what is expected of products now compared to earlier on; it used to be just about functionality, now a product must have both good form and function. In the chapter about interior design I thought it was interesting that it focused a lot on resiential design instead of commercial, which I thought was very interesting since I have always been taught that interior decorators designs the inside of a home, not interior designers.
